I am a primary school teacher (mostly KS1) and love creating new resources. Making resources to fit your lessons is time consuming so hopefully you can find something in my shop to create a bit of extra down time.

Everyday Materials (Year 1). Objects and Materials Cut and Stick

(0)
A simple but effective cut and stick activity for the start of the unit of Everyday Materials (distinguish between an object and the material from which it is made). This is part of a series of worksheets on the unit as a whole. Each sheet can be purchased separately or as a bundle. The worksheet is in line with the UK National Curriculum for Year 1 Science - Everyday Materials - Distinguish between an object and the material from which it is made. By purchasing or downloading this worksheet you agree to the Terms of Use attached to the document. Thank you for taking the time to look at my resources. I love making these and if I can help you cut down on your teacher workload and free up some time then I am happy!

Numbers 0-10 Card Sorting Game

(0)
A sorting game for pupils to match digits, pictorial representations and numbers as words (0-10). Simply print, laminate and muddle the cards. Can be used as a follow-on activity for fast finishers or as a supported activity to reinforce number recognition. Great for children who need a little more time to grasp counting in order. As an additional challenge, pupils can order the sorted piles forwards or backwards. Take a look at my other resources to reinforce number recognition. This resource can be used independently or as part of a pack.

Common Exception Word - I have, Who has - Card Game.

A great game for teaching reading and spelling of the year 1 CEW. The teacher starts by reading out a CEW and the child with the corresponding word on their card stands up and says “I have xxx. Who has yyy” - reading the next word on their card. The game continues until all of the cards have been read. Cards have all of the Year 1 CEW on them (45). More able pupils could have two cards. Great for reinforcing prior learning, a plenary, a carpet game or for a game with smaller groups (several cards each). Could also be used by groups of children as a follow on or fast finisher task. Instruction sheet included.

A full half term (7 weeks) of start of day activities for Year 1 pupils. Slides follow the Year 1 National Curricullum (UK) for Phonics, English and Maths. A gentle introduction to the year with a whole set of morning work. Pages reinforce phonic initial sounds, small steps in maths and EYFS/Year 1 CEW. The document is a Power Point presentation and I have left it editable so you can add or remove content. However, please note that reproduction or resale of the product is not permitted.

An interactive version of a cut and stick. Children can come to the white board and move the correct digit to the corresponding picture. Document is a Power Point presentation which should be used in edit mode - not display mode. Can also be used individually as part of an intervention. Great transition or early autumn term activity.

Watermelon themed tens frames where the children work out the number of water melons on the tens frame and then hunt for the card with the correct number on. Then they work out the number on the tens frame on that card and hunt for that number and so on. If they get them all right, they should get back to the beginning. Helps with number recognition and counting. A great transition activity. A self checking answer sheet is included.
