Dress-Up Ideas for Infants: Scarecrow, Superhero, Witch, and Easter Bunny
These very simple dress-up ideas for infants are good for engaging young children in imaginative play while also supporting early literacy and numeracy. Children can follow the easy instructions with some help.
Scarecrow
Dress infants as a scarecrow and use it to spark farm-themed storytelling (Old MacDonald) or Autumn number rhymes like “Five Little Pumpkins.” Alternatively, children can make a scarecrow for display or adding to your outdoor pumpkin patch!
Superhero
Infants dressed as superheroes can engage in simple stories with repetitive phrases like “Up, up, and away!” Incorporate counting games like “One, Two, Three, Zoom!”
Witch
A cute witch costume works well with Halloween stories like Room on the Broom and rhymes such as “Five Little Witches” to teach counting and storytelling.
Easter Bunny
Bunny costumes can be paired with stories like ‘Guess How Much I Love You’ and number rhymes like “Five Little Bunnies” for fun, interactive learning.
