A bumper resource to support learning the alphabet, phonics and reading for EYFS and KS1. The first poster shows a colour picture for each letter of the alphabet. Children can use this as a worksheet adding either the first sound or the word. Laminate this and it can be useful in the writing corner. The second sheet is a replica of the first, but in black and white. Children love to colour this in, either using the colour pictures to copy or using their own colours. Next there is the full alphabet in both colour and black and white with a letter/word for each page. Each page shows a picture, the word and has some letters for children to overwrite. Again, laminate for the writing corner and use dry markers for lots of use and writing practice.

For letters from A to T Sheet 1 for each sound has 12 pictures to colour and cut out. Sheet 2 for each sound has 12 pictures to name, colour, write the words and cut and match to the pictures in sheet 1. Tracing the letters helps to develop fine motor control. A maths story power point for young children with an animal theme. Skills include counting to 5, knowing and using ordinal number, ordering the days of the week, developing memory skills, sequencing and colour matching. On each day of the week from Monday to Friday, the narrator sees a different animal. So, on Monday, the animal is a slow snail, Tuesday, a slow snail and a happy hippo etc. Children can join in the reading of the story on the PPT using the picture cues to help them. Encourage the children, later, to recall the animals and days of the week without the picture cues. There are 3 sets of flashcards to cut out and laminate- animals, ordinal number and days of the week. Following the story, use the flashcards as an activity where children sequence, match and recall.

More able children can spell the words. The slides are animated so that each letter appears with a click. The last slide can be printed off as a visual aid or activity sheet. Children can work alone or in pairs to find the pictures as they appear and mark off the words on the grid. Pictures are all of 3 or 4 letter words. Encourages speaking and listening and thinking e.g. the reindeer picture - the key word is nose and not reindeer.

The Christmas tree builds up from having a red robin , 2 shiny stars, 3 naughty elves and up to 12 drums a drumming. Children can join in with the counting as your go along from slide 1 to 12. Slide 13 is the title slide showing the 12 days of Christmas pictures. Slide 14 is a worksheet where children can cut out and order the 12 days of Christmas.
