New Viva 2 - Module 1 - Unit 1 - De vacaciones
This PPT follows the new Viva 2 textbook and includes activities to cover the first unit of module 1 “Mis Vacaciones” p 6 to 9.
It contains 50 slides and includes:
the presentation of new vocabulary with games to consolidate the learning of vocabulary
listening, speaking and reading activities from p8 & 9
the introduction of the verb “ir” in the preterite tense

New Viva 2 - Module 1 - Unit 3 - El último día
This PPT follows the new Viva 2 textbook and includes activities to cover the third unit of module 1 “El último día” p12 & 13.
It contains 25 slides and includes:
the presentation of new vocabulary with games to consolidate the learning of vocabulary
listening, and translation activities from p12 & 13
slides explaining the preterite tense of regular -Er and -Ir verbs as well as some activities to practise.
a slide with a battleship activity using the preterite tense of regular verbs + IR. Students work as a team to find where the boats are hidden.
I have also added a battleship worksheet to consolidate the preterite tense. Students can play against each other.

El Roscon de Reyes - Spanish cake recipe
This resource was created to end the topic of food from Listos 2 on a festive note.
Students work out the recipe in English by practising translation skills and then bring their version of it for a friendly bake off competition. The ones who can't bake (for various reasons) become judges and give marks on presentation and taste
Highly successful lesson which my Y8 classes really enjoy year after year and teach them a little about a Spanish tradition.

MFL (French/German/Spanish) Advent calendar - Christmas competition
To get in the Christmas spirit and promote languages, my MFL department has been running a very successful competition over the last few years.
Students use their creative skills to produce an original Advent Calendar using as much target language as possible.
PPT includes:
- a few slides with instructions
- copies of the email sent to MFL staff, students, tutors, MFL prefects and librarian (where the calendars are displayed)
- list of 40 christmas words for German, Spanish and French
I have also added Awards certificates created with Publisher.
Spanish toolkit of 5 key tenses (present/(near/simple) future/imperfect/preterite)
Great resource to teach/revise 5 key tenses which was created to support students to improve their grammatical and translation skills especially in regards to the new GCSE assessments.
Students can stick at the back of exercise books and use as reference to practise new tenses and/or create sentences.
It includes patterns for regular -AR; -ER; -IR verbs, main irregular verbs and time phrases linked to each tense.

Great hands on resources to teach the Present tense endings of -Ar, -Er and -Ir verbs.
Your students will create flap books to practise their verb endings on regular verbs. Once they have filled in the tables, cut and assembled all the pieces, they can check it whenever they need to conjugate verbs.

Tip 1: print each topic on different colour paper to avoid mixing the themes
Tip 2: laminate the cards for durability.
Tip 3: to reduce the cost of printing, only print once or twice and give a different topic per group. The group can then change their topics the following session.
