A Spanish nursery rhyme - the chicks say cheep, the dogs bow wow - with finger puppets to make, with lyrics and music indicated.

Learners need to place their treasure and hunt for it using coordinates. Clues can be given out using the hot, warm, cold system, which can then transform into a physical game in a large room.

The words for colours are indicated. The children are put into 3 groups to compete for points - the mariquitas, the abejas and the mariposas.

To the tune of 'Here we go round the mulberry bush' a simple song to learn the word draw and some shapes. There are some pictures for children to trace over with their fingers.

There are 3 games on the sheet. Game 1, each child chooses 4 items of clothing from the illustrated vocab given, and writes them in game 1 column. Then the first learners to tick off their 4 items are the winners.

The children learn about putting a book together. They choose the pages they want, cut them on the line down the middle, choose card for the front and back, choose a title and illustrate their cover.\n\nIn the next session (after the books have been stapled) the learners roleplay reading a story to a younger child.

I teach the body parts with a game of simon says. The learners match body parts to words on a sheet, then after a quick revision of numbers 1-5 learners comment on the monsters. Then they choose one or more monsters to draw.

learners cut out and match words to pictures, eg tengo seis manzanas to a picture of 6 apples, then stick them in their books side by side.

Chu Chu wa is a marching song with actions that become increasingly sillier. The tune is available on youtube (I recommend Grupo Encanto), and the children can draw actions before performing song as a reward at the end.

Count the hands and say what they do - clap, wave, talk etc.\nRead the words that come up and put your hands in if you have that strip. Count how many hands are in.

Print this onto card, and the children cut card flaps to stick over the pictures. Then children play 'reading to baby' as they look for the hidden items.

These numbers help learners to count aloud, and serve as replacements for 2 dice when cut into individual squares and put in an envelope.

Learners earn the right to colour in a province of Spain for their team. Rewards can be given for the most coloured map each session or the first to complete the map, rather like marbles in the jar.
