This is a three-day unit of work for teaching Volume objectives in year 6. In this resource pack, you will find: Lesson plans, differentiated worksheets (LA, MA/HA plus a challenge activity for deeper understanding/mastery), answer sheets for all activities and flipcharts for whole class teaching (in ActivInspire, PowerPoint and PDF format). This pack will save you hours and hours of planning, resourcing, differentiating, finding challenging activities and generating flipcharts all for an amazing price. Day 1 focusses on finding the volume of cubes, cuboids and compound shapes by counting centimetre cubes and using strategies to find the number of cubes quickly. The challenge activity involves the children finding the volume of compound shapes comprised of different sized cubes. Day 2 introduces the concept that a formula can be used to find the volume of cubes and cuboids (mm, cm, m and km). The challenge activity: Three volume problems to encourage deeper understanding and mastery. Day 3 focusses on problem solving involving volume. A set of 15 staggered problem solving cards for children to hone their problem-solving skills including challenge activities (problems 13-15) to demonstrate mastery. This is a collection of mental maths papers for Year 4. The spreadsheet includes four sheets differentiated four ways (LA, MA, HA and Challenge) and includes answer sheets. What makes these different to other published mental maths material, is that each sheet can be randomised by simply pushing F9 on your keyboard, so there are almost an unlimited combination of questions for each paper. This means they can be used as often as you like with very little repetition. Use them daily, weekly, termly or as you wish. Use them for early bird, homework or to regularly assess the children's mental computation. Also included on the sheet is a record sheet if you wish to track pupil progress - simply fill in the names and record the results in the grid (scores will be colour coded for easy analysis). The previews represent just a fraction of the sheets that can be produced! This is three day unit of work (potentially 3-6 sessions) for teaching perimeter objectives in year 3. In this resource pack, you will find: Lesson plans, games, differentiated worksheets, a range of problem solving activities involving perimeter, challenging activities – for deeper understanding, answer sheets and flipcharts for whole class teaching (in ActivInspire, PowerPoint and PDF format). Day 1 starts with revising ruler skills and then using those skills to measure 2D shapes to find their perimeters. The challenge activity tasks pupils with applying what they have learned so far to answer deeper understanding questions. The extension activity: using measuring skills to find total distances and to solve word problems. Day 2 involves the children finding perimeters of shapes where they are not drawn accurately through a fun game and then a worksheet (that can be randomised). The challenge activity – the children must answer problem solving questions using the floor plan of a house! Day 3 starts with a class problem solving activity then moves on to a large range of differentiated problem solving cards that can be stuck into books and investigated/solved.
