This lesson introduces students to the idea of the stock market and how it works -initially through a brief video and followed by a game students can play independently/in pairs or in groups/ were students can experience the stock market. Exam technique covered in this lesson is the 4 mark question. Although this lesson is designed for the new spec it could easily work with the old spec too. Speculation on the stock market is a really difficult concept for students to understand. To fully understand the causes of the wall street crash they need to be able understand how the stock market works and the risk involved. All resources provided for the game. This lesson is designed to be taught over 2 - 3 hours as not only does it explore the roles of women and the changes they experiences in the 1920s but it also looks at new Paper 1D Q1 - 3 Interpretations exam technique. The lesson provides the following. An overview through video on how life for women changed. Card Sort looking at whether life changed for all women & were there some limitations. 4/8 and 12 mark question. The ppt offers further extension and exploration of 2 interpretations (provided by AQA for the new spec) on how life for women changed in the 1920s. Mark Schemes are also provided for each of the 3 questions to support in accordance to the new spec assessment. This lesson is designed for my current Y11 students starting AQA Paper 1 (Old Spec). It covers the content to the event through a detailed piece of writing which students work on independently at first then in groups to complete a worksheet. Students then use their knowledge of the event to practice and self mark a 6 mark question with heavy scaffolding to help students understand accurate exam structure. The lesson content covers the events of 1936 and the reaction of the leading European powers at the time (namely Britain & France) to Hitler’s violation of the Treaty of Versailles. Students consider how/why was Hitler able to get away with it and begin to consider how this could lead to WW2. Please review!

This Middle Passage lessons looks firstly at the journey and experience of slaves through the middle passage via the medium of a storyboard. Using a pack of resources, students then to consider in groups the Time/Author/Purpose/Place of each source. Celebrate Halloween this October with your secondary students with this 78 question quiz themed around the event complete with answers and an accompanying crossword This resource is a 78 question Halloween quiz created on Microsoft Powerpoint suitable for KS3 and KS4 secondary students. Whats included? Within this resource there are 78 questions spanning 5 rounds. A mixture of multiple choice and general knowledge question types are included. Topics range from fantastic facts about Halloween and all spooky association to general knowledge questions, literary works, song lyrics and spooky TV and film favourites. Your learners will have so much fun engaging with this quiz. The answers can then shared as a class either by going through each question individually (ensure you are in present mode for the correct answer to colour green) for students to peer or self mark. You could alternatively use the quick answer quiz sheet variation of this quiz if you would prefer to speed things up! Additionally, answers to each individual question can be found on the notes section of each individual PowerPoint slide. An answer sheet has been created for students to use with this quiz to ensure they stay on track. There are 2 bonus point anagrams on the sheet for students to workout where they find the opportunity. The answers to these are provided within the same powerpoint. **Consolidation crossword ** Once students have completed the quiz, they can demonstrate their learning by completing the 20 question crossword puzzle included in this resource. All questions and answers for the crossword will have been covered in the quiz. There are 2 variations of the same crossword, one with and one without a word bank to help differentiate for pupils. A completed teacher answer sheet has also been provided. Delivery advice I would recommend for this quiz that students get into groups of no more than 4 and the quiz activity should take no longer than 50 minutes to complete in a single sitting. Alternatively, the rounds could be split up to complete in tutor time over the course of the week. To view the ‘long answers’, the powerpoint must be downloaded and displayed in present mode. Answers will turn green upon clicking at the end of the quiz. This is a lesson which develops students skills of team work and independent enquiry. Students begin with a team quiz! Students pose their own enquiry (or choose from 2 enquiry questions on the board) based on the ‘hook’ (video). As a team of detectives. Students explore different elements of organised crime with constant focus on their enquiry question. High quality resources (maps/written pieces/statistics) make up the 6 sources. I have printed mine on A3 in colour and laminated. Students use their enquiry research to answer an 8 mark question (this could also be done as a team/in pairs). As alwasy please review! This lesson is designed to fit over an hour. It informs students about the April 1938 Anschluss. Students look at the story and events of the Anschluss and how its outcomes led to WW2 being more likley. In this lesson I introduced the Paper 1 10 mark question and supplied students with a model answer to break down into a plan. I work with students to highlight the many points made on each argument and review the paper again to get students to highlight the key language and words used in the text to promote each point as the most significant In addition to this there is a mini Pop Quiz to check understanding. This lesson is designed for my current Y11 students starting AQA Paper 1 (Old Spec). It covers the content to the event through a detailed piece of writing which students work on independently at first. Students then use the resources to complete the table explaining how each event made WW2 more likely in preparation to answer a 10 mark question. Students then answer a 10 mark question using their tables and previous experience to guide them. A plan is provided on a word doc to help structure their answer. Finally students make a judgment on whether or not the collapse of Czech was inevitable following the Munich Agreement linking their ideas about appeasement. Please review!
