Powers of Ten, Prefixes and Standard Form Homework/Worksheet

(0)
This resource is an opportunity for students to practice converting to common prefixes such as micro, milli etc. and converting numbers to standard form or scientific notation. There are 20 questions for them to complete and I have included the answers as well! This is aimed at Science students for the new maths content within the new GCSE (2016) for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC but it would be equally suitable for anyone needing to practice standard form so any Maths students. It is designed as a homework but can equally well be used as a lesson activity. This resource is designed to accompany my Powers of Ten lesson (available separately) which is a good introduction to this worksheet.

Physics Taboo

(0)
A set of game cards for Taboo covering the basic topics of Physics: Energy, Waves, Origins of the Universe, Energy transfers, Conduction, Convection, Radiation. Students play in teams of two. One person picks up a card and has to describe the phrase in the top box without using any of the words on the card. Their team mate has to guess it to win. The opposing two members of the four can jump in and steal the card by guessing correctly. This is an ideal revision activity as it forces the students to describe the topic without using key words. This increases understanding.
