A Social Narrative is an effective way to teach children how to navigate a new situation, such as starting school or preschool or in this instance learning to go to school ‘virtually’.
Social Narratives can help children understand what to expect at school or preschool.
Encouraging children to try using independence in problem solving in situations where safety is a prime concern, is a common social skill that needs to be frequently addressed.
As educators we need to explicitly teach these skills.
This story can be used to help children to broaden their technology skills and learn to work in a new learning environment away from school.

Experiment with shapes and mirrors and explore how a kaleidoscope actually works. I have included some fantastic links in this resource that will show you how to create a Mandala, how to divide your shape into concentric circles using a compass.
The YouTube videos included will show your students how to create some exciting Mandalas of their own.
This resource is designed to link mathematics, art and the theme of celebrations together in one neat activity.
Discuss with your students the definition of symmetry and find examples of it in the classroom, every day life and in historical mosaics and art pieces.
Concentric circles and geometry can be discussed within this activity, and students encouraged to use a compass to draw circles. This YouTube video may also be useful as a lead up activity or another lesson based on concentric circles
You will receive a 70 page PDF which includes 53 pages of images and 2 sheets of colored shapes that you can print of and laminate for use with mirrors to explore symmetry. Exciting stuff!!!!

Year 4
This booklet uses one of my all time favourite stories, "Lester and Clyde" by James H. Reece. A wonderful tale that explores the themes of pollution on the environment, recycling, and of course frogs. There are resources linked to all of these ideas within the booklet. Your students may enjoy a research project using a Webquest, or investigate how far a 'cottonball frog' can jump. This resource is a time saver; there are some fabulous links for you to explore and make these units of work your own.
To get the best use out of this booklet, I encourage you to click on all of the available downloads and links. There are many treasures hidden in here. The Pinterest board alone is full of some fantastic and engaging activities for the theme of frogs and caring for our environment. You could easily stretch this unit to a month with all the ideas available.
Free Classroom management booklet included and this bundle includes a set of ICEBREAKER cards
Secrets of the organized student
-Getting organized can make life easier for kids with learning and thinking differences. It might take some effort in the beginning, but it’s worth it in the long run. Here are tips to help kids improve organizational skills at home, at school, and beyond.
-Kids with ADHD rarely keep their backpacks tidy — and that sometimes has serious consequences on overall academic performance. These organization strategies can help kids build the skills they need to stay neat — or at least neatish!
-There are always a couple students each year who really struggle to stay organized. Maybe you notice this characteristic in your own children. Messy desks and work areas, can’t locate things, have difficulty getting organized for class, often don’t have the tools they need for the day or forget homework, are unaware of deadlines, have trouble prioritizing or planning to complete activities, and perhaps this causes them to be unfocused.
-Here are a few tips to help support these students and relieve them of the stresses around becoming organised. It can be a frustration for child, parents and teacher, and can often impact on instruction time, while they struggle to find supplies and books.
-This is a 27 page PDF download, which will has strategies, templates and posters that you can use to help students to become organised in the classroom and doing their work at home.
This eBook will help to relieve some of the stresses around unpacking assignments, planning, prioritizing and organizing their time.
-There are some fabulous links that students will find incredibly engaging and useful. The poster images are simple yet the strategies demonstrated in them are effective in helping students to get organized in their work habits.
-For many of our students who may be diagnosed ADD or ADHD, this can be a very challenging area. Many special needs students in older grades will benefit from the scaffolds, websites and planning templates included in the book,
