I am an experienced teacher and currently Head of English and Media in a large secondary school. I am also an examiner for EDUQAS English Language GCSE. I have a range of resources available on TES. Some of my resources are quite old, from when I first started out, and I am currently working in my spare time to update my resources. There are a range of resources from displays, schemes of work, revision booklets, mock exam papers and lessons available.

To ensure our students understood their grades and progress, I created a tracking grid that shows each half terms grade, as well as a graph to map on their progress and a two line self made target to demonstrate they are responding to feedback and recognising how they can improve. This has been highly praised in observations.

P4C, Philosophy for Children, lesson on Animal Rights, using SeaWorld

A P4C lesson discussing animal rights and morality, using an article about Tilikum the whale in SeaWorld and the documentary Blackfish. A good way to have students discuss, justify and improve reasoning skills. A writer in role task is also included at the end of the lesson that can be used as an exit ticket, or homework, which encourages students to play 'devils advocate'.

Eduqas Unseen Poetry exam style paper with student and teacher notes including mark scheme

Exam style paper comparing Christina Rossetti’s ‘I loved your first: but afterwards your love’ with John Cooper Clarke’s ‘I wanna be yours’. Included in the resource is: the exam question; both poems; teacher notes including assessment objectives and mark scheme; student notes (including a key terminology tick list and a breakdown of what is needed to get maximum marks when answering the question). A great revision tool and an excellent way of helping the students get to grips with expectations in the exam.
