By examining a variety of peace organisations students will critically assess their motivation and inspiration, their work and its effectiveness, and what opposition or barriers they face. This resource explores the theme of the Pope’s World Day of Peace message for 2025. The theme is ‘Forgive us our trespasses: grant us your peace’. Pax Christi promotes the message in parishes and schools in January. The message talks about hope, justice and forgiveness to bring peace and ties in with the Year of Jubilee. This resource invites students to think about some of the themes and further activities are suggested in the resource.

This children’s liturgy resource was produced for Peace Sunday 2025 on 19th January. On this day, Pax Christi promotes the Pope’s message for the World Day of Peace. The theme of the 2025 message is ‘Forgive us our trespasses: grant us your peace’ and reflects on hope, justice and forgiveness to bring about peace. This resource explores the themes of the message and the Second Reading and Gospel for the 2nd Sunday in Ordinary time. It also includes suggestions for related activities. We also have a worksheet that accompanies the resource and can be used as a stand-alone activity to explore what hope, forgiveness and peace are.
