Weekly Happiness Diary - 7 Reasons to be cheerful...

I have created a simple set of worksheets to help students to focus on what is good in their lives. They can complete this work at the beginning or the end of the day. They could even have it set as homework one week. The idea being that if students know they will need to write about being happy, they will actively seek out happiness to write about. When students write about being happy, they relive that happy moment, and of course become happier!

Want to inspire your students? These pictures form the basic parts of a story to get them thinking. The pictures can be simply mixed up to change the story. The different pictures from the different stories could all be mixed up to create a really interesting mash-up of different stories. A real challenge is to see if a class can create a whole story from all the different images in the presentation!

Conversation Starter - 10 Steps To Great Grades and A Great Life!

I have created a conversation lesson on how to achieve your goals. They could be printed out and placed on the wall. They could also be used in a single lesson prior to or during SATs or GCSE revision to help students achieve their fullest potential. Each slide has an idea, a linked picture and a discussion point for the class.

I love to get the students really talking about an issue. I saw another teacher do it and thought that this looks really effective. My Walk to School Week teaching resources are designed to get the students to think about why we should walk to school, what are the alternatives and the benefits and the costs of walking to school using different modes of transport. They are also designed to get students really talking, listening and expressing their own ideas. My teaching resources could be printed out and made into an eye catching, thought provoking display or used as a whole class discussion stimulus. I am now making a new series of resources like this, so that teachers and students can get a lot more out of every lesson.

Anti Stress Colouring Book - Enjoy some colouring therapy.

Teachers need some fun to. This is my adult colouring book for teachers. You could print it out for your class to quietly colour during tests (when they have completed them to calm and relax them), or during long staff meetings - nothing is more relaxing and constructive than a little light colouring. This is to encourage staff to have a little time every day to think and reflect and not work. This is my attempt at improving the good life balance of staff. All these images were in the public domain. In the majority of the cases however, it took both a long time to find, then even longer to use editing software to sharpen and improve the images. I would love to know what people think of them.

Thinking Scarves - The Creative Thinking System for Primary Schools

I would like to introduce a brand new concept in thinking. Thinking Scarves. For a long time I was a huge fan of thinking hats... until a teacher one day wrote to me and said she did not like Thinking Hats as the Black Hat was very negative and could help to reinforce negative stereotypes about the colour black. In contrast, "White" was seen as a straight down the line, honest hat. The facts, pure and simple, without and falsification or misinterpretation. I then thought I am a teacher. Why not simply reinvent the whole system - forget about hats - scarves are the answer. With scarves, you can share them between friends, creating a closer bond between the thinkers. Make a thinking system which works perfectly in a primary school environment. Green - What is positive - makes you feel good? Red - What is negative? What makes you feeling angry or upset? Purple - what are your general feelings towards a character? Like purple, feelings can be hard to define. Gold - Make 'n' Shake - Follow your dreams and all the streets will be paved in gold. Blue : Facts - Facts, like the sea and sky can appear endless. Guide: No scarves, just a handy bag to carry all the scarves in and organise them into some sort of order. I would love other people's opinions on this concept.

Transformative Daily Reflection: 21 Days of Positivity! I am excited to share a powerful new activity that encourages students to focus on the positive aspects of their lives! Each day, students will reflect on four things that are good in their lives and one moment of happiness from the current day. You would be amazed at how challenging this simple task can be for children! Why This Activity is a Game Changer: Daily Positivity: By engaging in this reflection every day for 21 days, students will develop the habit of identifying and appreciating the positive and happy moments in their lives. This practice can truly transform their outlook and enhance their overall well-being. Meaningful Conversations: This activity also creates a wonderful opportunity for both teachers and students to come together each day to discuss what makes them feel good and what went well. These discussions can foster a supportive and nurturing classroom environment where everyone feels valued and heard. Perfect Afternoon Activity: I recommend implementing this activity as an afternoon reflection. It serves as a calming and uplifting way to wrap up the day, allowing students to transition into their next activities with a positive mindset. Let’s Cultivate a Culture of Positivity! By encouraging students to focus on the good in their lives, we can help them build resilience and a positive self-image. Join me in this exciting journey of personal growth and happiness, and let’s empower our students to embrace the joy in every day!

I have developed an idea. Did you know that during your registration period every day, you could be actively making your whole class happier? This could be done in the morning, the afternoon or even better at the end of each day before they go home. All they do is complete this 21 page daily journal on things which make them happy. I have used it and I can say it does make a big difference to how you approach life.

15 FREE Say No To War Posters! Great slogans to discuss and share in the Keystage 2 or Keystage 3.

I have created 15 anti-war slogan posters which teachers are free to use, discuss and share in their classrooms. They are a great way for launching and supporting classroom discussions. Why do people go to war? Is there such a thing as a just war? Is there always a solution which does not involve violence? If you like these posters, please take the time to leave a nice comment, share and distribute these resources to others. You can also click the little heart to be informed of all the future teaching resources I make and upload.
