The students could also take the laminated photos and sort them into different Diwali – Counting to 10 Lamps. The photos could also be used to sort numbers or to use them to add or subtract different numbers.

Your partner must write the figure. Swap roles.  Match words to figures. Practise writing figures for words and words for figures.  Make some number word cards for the rest of the class to read out and write the figure.

As my Anti-bullying posters (https://www.tes.com/teaching-resource/10-free-anti-bullying-week-posters-for-every-classroom-download-and-share-today-11168376) proved so popular, I thought I would continue the series and create a set of motivational maths posters. You could add them to the classroom or all around the school. The would make an excellent resource for International Mathematics day, Pi day or any other numeracy day.
