"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler"-Albert Einstein. These wise words from the worl'd greatest physicist has long inspired my lesson plans, ensuring that concepts are made as simple as possible without dumbing down. All paid for lessons follow the same design, all lessons are clearly differentiated, with plenty of peer assessment and self assessment to reduce teacher workload and are fun and engaging for student and teacher alike.

I have these colourful posters displayed randomly around my room, i print them double sided and alternate them every fortnight. They are pictures taken from the I love science group on Facebook filled with the newest advances in science to help engage students and to allow students to see how what they are learning in the classroom can change the way our world works. Equation practice for additional physics

(1)
this is a full lesson for a low ability year 11 class in preparation for their end of p2 part 1 test. It helps students decide which equation to use when covering various maths skills required for additional physics. although designed for a low ability class it can be easily altered for a higher ability class.

How Sound Travels

(0)
This worksheet covers the 'bell in the vacuum' experiment and looks at why sound travels at different speeds in different mediums. Mainly aimed for a low ability group.
Particles and Quantum Glossary

Particles and Quantum Glossary

(2)
This covers all the key words and new words AS students will cover in the first module of AS Physics (AQA). I will be using it for the students to fill in at the end of each lesson the words they have learnt so they can then use it for revision during the exam period. However this could be given to pupils to do over a homework (or two!) as revision.

This is a lesson looking at how and when to draw different graphs, identifying variables and analysing a graph or data and planning an experiment. There are three different worksheets at the beginning to go with the PowerPoint, one for low ability, one for intermediate and one for high ability students to be printed off before the lesson.

Specific Heat Capacity of types of Coca-cola

(0)
Is there really a difference between the many different brands of Coca-Cola? Coke zero and diet coke both have the same number of calories etc, but interestingly have different specific heat capacities. This lesson was for a high ability year 9 class who had already done a little on SHC.

CSI Challenge: Blood Drops, ISA preparation.

This was designed as an end of year, fun but also useful lesson. Each student was given a booklet to work through in pairs, all they needed was some fake blood (which I made by mixing red and brown paint with water), a pipette a metre ruler and a few sheets of A3 paper. After the practical there are some ISA style questions, I told my year 9s we were going to be using this as an indicator for where to start with them during next year's ISA lessons.

Core Physics Extended Writing (QWC questions AQA P1)

(0)
This covers the QWC questions given by AQA for core physics over the past few years. Each question has a answer preparation section, a keywords section and a space for the students answer and a mark scheme. There is a PowerPoint with videos for most of the questions and hints on the questions to go on the board. Designed to be used by non-specialists in the run up to the physics exam. Please give any feedback on how it could be improved.

Make your own physics decorations for your tree or classroom! A fun Christmas activity (although could be used at other times of the year), the “angels” of physics come with an equation they are closely associated with, students can then get creative by adding their own wings. I will also be setting my students the task of writing a biography about their “angel” over the Christmas break.
