Christmas Reflection and Scale Factor Drawing
I have made this Thanksgiving themed resource to help begin meet the needs of our 21st Century learners. The skills they will need will involve a capability of working in a digital environment.
This activity focusses on coding. However it can equally be seen as a sequencing activity, a problem solving activity or a positional maths activity.
This is an introductory activity to using coding. It doesn’t require the use of a device or access to the internet. Though you may like to show students the actual Scratch Jr app as well.
The success of these tasks is best achieved with plenty of prior discussion and modelling.
The challenge with these activities is working with anticlockwise and clockwise turns
This resource comes with;
Four worksheets of simple coding. The four increase in challenge.
Answers for each worksheet
An Advent Calendar that promotes thinking of others.
Instead of finding a gift for oneself behind the door of each day in this calendar behind each door is an act of kindness for the student to perform.
Although it can be made in one extended session of work allow your class two or three sessions to make this a high presentation advent calendar that each student can take home and use.
Students will choose a front image to cut doors into. Using the doors they then stencil the location for the acts of kindness on to a backing sheet. After writing in their acts of kindness the two sheets are glued together to form an Advent calendar.
This resource includes;
instructions
a range of Christmas images to use
a list of suggested acts of kindness.
