Spanish Introductions Dialogue Writing Prompt, Translation, and Skit - This download includes: 1. Introductions dialogue writing prompt. The writing prompt contains requirements for greetings and leave takings, asking who another person is and response, formal and informal introductions, and asking and providing age. There is vocabulary provided for each of the requirements. 2. Sample introductions writing prompt that can be used for: a. Individual translation activity b. Full class translation activity when projected c. 4-person skit The sample writing prompt comes in large font for projecting and full class viewing, and small font copied 2 per page for student handout translation and use as a 4-person skit.
Spanish Thanksgiving Foods and Colors Noun / Adjective Agreement - Students practice agreement in number and gender of adjectives and nouns using 16 Spanish Thanksgiving foods and color words such as "the red cranberries." The answer key is included. Also included: 1. Word list for Thanksgiving vocabulary 2. Word list of color vocabulary This is a good substitute lesson plan because students can quiz each other on the food and colors vocabulary after completing the worksheet.

Spanish Winter Olympic Sports Crossword Puzzle and Vocabulary - This activity contains 15 clues for the Winter Olympic sports. Students are instructed to complete the crossword, write Spanish vocabulary words under each picture and also write the Spanish vocabulary word next to each clue so they get lots of practice with each word. The download can be used as a fun substitute lesson plan. When students complete the worksheet activities, they can quiz each other on the Winter Olympics vocabulary. Included in the download: 1. Summer Picnic Basket Food Sketch and Label Activity - ENGLISH Students sketch and color a minimum of 10 foods that they will take with them on a picnic. They then write the corresponding words under the sketched items. This is a fun activity at the end of the school year as students are thinking about summer activities and vacation! Instructions for the activity are included on the worksheet.
2 Twelve Days of Christmas Booklets - Students first cut, assemble and read The Twelve Days of Christmas Booklet that contains text and images from the traditional 12 Days of Christmas song. They then sketch and create their own version using the text only template. Encourage students to share their creations with their classmates and family! Spanish Writing Prompt - A Great Party - Una Fiesta Estupenda - Everyone loves to plan and talk about parties so your students are sure to enjoy this activity! This writing assignment features irregular yo form verbs such as traer, caer, saber, conocer, venir, hacer, salir, poner, oir, and others. Students are to use them as often as possible as they write about what makes a great party. The irregular yo verbs are listed along with other vocabulary associated with parties such as food, costumes, gifts, games, sleepover and more. The Spanish and English are included for the verbs and vocabulary words. This writing prompt is copied 2 per page for student handouts. This writing task makes a great substitute teacher lesson plan!

Spanish Direct Object Pronouns and Food Chant and Student Activity - This download includes the following: 1. Chant - 28 lines with a clip art image illustrating each of the 14 food words. 2. Chant without the Spanish food word so students have to say it from memory and looking at the clip art. 3. Chant with Spanish and English food words and the direct object pronouns missing so students must figure out what goes in the blanks. 4. Student activity chant template so students can add their own food words and direct object pronouns and create their own versions of the chant. This fun chant contains 14 different food words, direct object pronouns lo, la, los, and las, me gustaria, lo siento, the verb ver, the command pasame, and 14 different names of girls and boys. This activity uses common Spanish verbs associated with boyfriends and girlfriends, and their behaviors and interests. Sample verbs are jugar, tener, tomar riesgos, saber + infinitive, hacer planes, hablar, ser, ir, and tocar. Students will practice 3 forms of each verb in the present tense for asking, responding, and the follow-up written activity. Each student mingles with a bingo grid and must find different classmates that can reply yes when asked about statements in each of the 16 boxes. A sample statement is, "Pienso que un novio debe hablar conmigo todos los dias." When a student replies yes to a question, the questioning student follows up by asking in Spanish for the student's signature. The goal is to be the first student to fill the entire bingo grid. Also included is a follow up worksheet that requires students to: 1. Write a sentence for each of the 16 boxes in the grid. The student includes the name of the student that signed the box and must change the verbs to the third person. 2. Write an appropriate Spanish infinitive verb under 6 images at the bottom of the paper.
Spanish Body Parts Matching Squares Puzzle - Students assemble a 3 x 3 Spanish/English vocabulary puzzle with 24 of the most common body parts words. Words are only listed on the puzzle once. Just photocopy enough for a class set (1 for every 2 students if working in pairs, or 1 per student if working alone), cut and fasten with a paper clip. Distribute to students and challenge them to reassemble the puzzles as quickly as possible. There is a list of all words alongside the puzzle in Spanish and English. Spanish Autobiography PowerPoint Project - Students reflect on their past, present and future while they practice many important Spanish concepts. This project pulls together the following topics: physical and personality descriptions, introductions, age, likes and dislikes, hobbies, ir a + infinitive to talk about the future, querer, present progressive, regular present tense verbs, preterit, imperfect, commands, and reflexives.
The project includes:
1. Explanation of the task
2. Section with 5 numbered requirements (present to class, use of images, number of slides, printed copy of project, and due date)
3. 8 bulleted categories that must be included. These provide sample sentences and explanations of concepts. Since this project can be used for more than one level, and to allow for grading flexibility, a rubric is not included.
Your students will enjoy creating and sharing these projects about their lives and their classmates enjoy viewing their creations! This is a great year end wrap up project, but it can be used for back to school review or anytime of the year for more advanced students.
