The extracts focus on Oliver and Fagin’s conversation while Fagin is in prison. The students work in pairs with differentiated sheets and answer questions on the extract. These are also included. The end of this PowerPoint then asks the students if their opinion of Fagin has changed after close analysis of the extract. The main aim of this class is for students to build a sense of empathy for Fagin and come to the realisation that Bill Sykes is the real villain in this story.
