This lesson covers the formation of stacks and associated landforms. I found myself being frustrated by the lack of process detail that students were putting into their answers. They have textbooks but rarely seem to read them closely! My solution was to design these A3 sheets which guide students through the note taking process by getting them to focus on a wide ranging exam style question. The sheet links clearly to the Hodder text and ensures that students also focus on integrating the case study of Flamborough Head where these features can be seen. The emphasis is on applying processes to formation rather than a simple chronological description. The quality of the final written answers has improved massively as a result of using these. The power-point guides students through the process but the sheet is self explanatory and little teacher input is required. Teacher lesson notes are also included. This resource can also be used as revision activity for Year 13.

No other resources are necessary , simply print off the supporting worksheets. The resource makes reference to the Oxford Textbook but a double sided Knowledge Organiser has been included which means that a textbook is not required. Also includes a scaffolded exam question which covers the assessment requirements of the longer questions. The scaffolded question provides a model answer for students. The 2018 examiners report identifies this area as one where students struggled to apply their case study to the question. Can be easily adapted to other syllabi as command words are the same, will simply need to alter the mark tariff on the longer question.

A range of options is included to cover the material, depending on the sources available.
