This resource is useful for year 3 children but could be adapted for Year 4. The units teaches a host of reading and writing objectives. As a class, children will read and examine the novel ‘Kensuke’s Kingdom’ by Michael Morpurgo. Children will examine the main characters in the story and use drama techniques to empathise with the characters. They will have the opportunity to deduce and infer information based on what they have read and give their own opinions about the text. They will develop their knowledge of grammatical terms such as; nouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs, identify them within shared and guided reading.
