In this case study we learn from Maggie Bailey, CEO, New Century Education, a group of Charter Schools in Abu Dhabi, how the school benefited from implementing the Class Charts 'Engage' package in three of their Cycle 2 schools during the 2022-23 academic year.

Creating a purposeful and supportive learning environment

The decision to implement Class Charts was based on educational research that emphasises the impact of teachers' actions, interactions and communication on student engagement and behaviour for learning. Class Charts helped our staff to create a purposeful and supportive ‘learning climate’ by helping teachers to design and optimise seating plans and by keeping academic data within custom field setups and/or creating WAR (Weaknesses, Achievements, and Rewards) boards.

Enhancing relationships and communication

Relationships and communication between teaching staff and our behaviour teams have improved with the use of the Class Charts’ analytics and reporting data features.

We worked together and inputted specific behaviours we needed to address within the school that matched our specific needs and ensured all staff had buy-in to both the procedures and Class Charts application. We have instant access to both rich and insightful data which has led to progress in the classroom for our students. It has also helped our SLT better share student progress updates with teachers and parents.

Motivating students through rewards

The rewards shop feature has played a significant part when it comes to motivation in our school. The ability to customise our rewards shop using student and parent voice and surveys has been highly advantageous. Onboarding students onto their app has evoked curiosity, commitment and perseverance from our students.

Looking ahead

We very much look forward to implementing the software in our cycle one school's next and learning more from Class Charts as the modules develop, grow and inspire.
