How to simplify school to school transition
Transition from primary to secondary school is an Ofsted focus that schools often struggle with. During an inspection, Ofsted will consider how information at transition points between schools is used effectively so that teachers can plan to meet pupils’ needs in all lessons from the outset – this is particularly important between the early years and key stage 1 and between key stages 2 and 3.
When her Majesty’s Chief Inspector reported that primary schools had continued to improve but that performance of secondary schools had stalled, one of the major contributory factors was that, too often, the transition from primary to secondary school was poorly handled.
That's where we can help. With our SEND management software, Provision Map, you can quickly transfer existing pupil documents from one school to another electronically – with no need for paper copies.
Seamless transition
It’s a secure, rapid and less time-consuming way to move plans, provisions, one-page profiles, safeguarding information, files and meeting logs for a student to another school to ensure you best support your SEND pupils from the very beginning to the very end of their time at school, while also helping to:
-
Reduce workload
-
Ensure a smooth and quick September start
-
Manage the flow of information in line with legal regulations
Quick data transfer requests
If a pupil has recently moved to your school from another school, you can request to transfer existing plans, provisions, passports, meeting logs, uploaded file data and safeguarding information from their previous school’s Provision Map account. So you have all the information you need for your new starters, at your fingertips!
Overviews of requested information
Within Provision Map, you'll have a neat overview of the data requests you've sent and their status (created, pending, approved and denied), so you can easily track and manage all your requests.
