iPGCE gains KHDA approval for Dubai
We're proud to announce that our International Postgraduate Certificate in Education (iPGCE), offered in collaboration with the University of East London, will now be considered by the KHDA as a recognised teacher preparation qualification available to anyone looking to secure a teaching appointment in Dubai.
Since its foundation in 2014, Tes Institute, the teacher training arm of Tes, has received huge recognition and appreciation for its teacher training and development programmes across the Middle East. This week’s announcement means that anyone considering what it’s like to teach in the Middle East can benefit from our high-quality training provision and our dedication to supporting teachers to develop their careers – provided they meet all the necessary requirements for teacher appointments in Dubai’s private schools.
The approval from the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) – responsible for the growth and direction of private education in Dubai – means Tes Institute is now an approved provider of a recognised ‘teacher preparation qualification' in Dubai. This approval, alongside our existing recognition in neighbouring countries, means we can now offer world-class training for teachers across the UAE.
Commenting on the recent announcement, Ryan Jones, Regional Head of Development for the Middle East & Africa said, “I am delighted with the KHDA’s decision to recognise our iPGCE as a teacher preparation course in the UAE. This is a brilliant achievement and milestone in our mission to deliver ITT programmes across the Middle East. Everybody at Tes Institute is united with the same vision to help guide our trainee teachers on their journey to teacherhood with the uppermost amount of care and quality - it is fantastic that the KHDA are supporting us with this. On behalf of everyone at Tes Institute, we look forward to working with more and more talented teachers across the region.”
