About ABC Private School
ABC Private School, Abu Dhabi is a popular and over-subscribed ENC School.
Catering for up to 2800 FS1 to Y13 students representing more than 16 nationalities the school is currently experiencing a period of rapid growth and development.
The Principal, Mrs Allison McDonald, recently joined ABC from Al Basma British School where she moved the school from satisfactory to very good with many outstanding features during her nine year tenure. An established Principal within the UAE, she prides herself on her holistic approach to education aiming to cultivate each student's talents, ignite their curiosity and foster their love for learning. Ms Allison wholeheartedly endorses ABC's commitment to prioritising inclusivity and providing a nurturing and supportive atmosphere which empowers students to explore, innovate and flourish.
ABC follows the 2014 National Curriculum of England and the updated 2020 Development Matters Framework in EYFS. The school uses both GL CAT4 and GL Progress tests for Year 4 to 10. In addition, the school offers a range of GCSE, iGCSE, iAS and iA Levels from Cambridge and Pearson Edexcel exam boards for their older students. We plan to introduce a range of BTEC qualifications to better personalise pathways for our students from September 2024.
Most recently, in February 2022, the school was graded good in the ADEK inspection. The school boasts excellent facilities and is well resourced.
ABC moved to the current site in Al Shamkha in 2016. Al Shamkha, which is a rapidly expanding and developing residential area of Abu Dhabi, is around an hours drive from Dubai. The school's owners are committed to an ongoing programme of investment and school improvement with the aim of achieving BSO accreditation in the coming twelve months which will enable the school to offer ECT Statutory Induction in future years.
