About Bohunt School Wokingham
Bohunt School Wokingham opened its doors to Year 7 pupils in 2016. Having grown substantially since then, we are now heavily oversubscribed, with a school roll of 1200 students aged 11-16. With the exciting announcement of our expansion to include a sixth form and additional spaces in all year groups, we will soon see more students through to 18.
Our ethos of ‘enjoy, respect, achieve’ underpins our vision to give all students an outstanding education and develop skills in the classroom and beyond. These core values help our students flourish throughout their school career, and on into later life. Reflective of the success achieved in its first three years, Ofsted recognised that the “overall educational experience for many pupils at the school is ‘life-changing’.”
Our new site has been designed and built with education at the forefront and includes specialist teaching spaces and a whole school one to one iPad provision, as well a wide range of sports and extra-curricular provision. We are leaders in outdoor education with an outdoor classroom, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and Big Expeditions to wilderness locations, alongside a variety of other trips at home and abroad.
We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with nine schools including two Sixth Forms and a boarding facility. We may be separated geographically, however, all BET schools are student centred, sharing an uncompromising belief in high achievement and unconditional positive expectations, a real sense of community and a dynamic, innovative approach to education.
Bohunt School Wokingham (BSW) is looking to appoint highly motivated, dynamic and innovative individuals with the desire to be part of our expanding school. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play an active part of the development and direction of the school as it grows, with rich opportunities for professional and career development both within the school and across the wider Academy Trust.
You will need to demonstrate a commitment to sustaining academic excellence, helping every child succeed and the potential to be an excellent classroom practitioner. As well as being able to; work as part of a team, roll up your sleeves and inspire others to excel.

- TES Award Judges on why Bohunt won ‘Overall School of the Year’Getting my job at Bohunt Wokingham has been the best thing to happen to my career. It is such a unique opportunity to work in a school as it develops. It does of course have unique challenges but it’s refreshing to be able to really focus on key stage 3 and build the curriculum to GCSE rather than the other way round. Working within a smaller team means you get to discuss and have input on decisions that in a larger school would not involve you. Everyone with the school does far more than just their role down to admin team who are involved in the House system. Working within the BET trust provides great opportunity to work with other outstanding practitioners and gives so much scope for future career possibilities.
- employeeWorking as a Subject Leader in brand new school appealed to me on many levels; if I may be frank, this is my ideal job! I acknowledge that this role is exciting, challenging and has require the utmost of dedication, enthusiasm and talent. Even though I have a wealth of experience and knowledge within teaching, this job has opened my eyes to so many things. It is an incredible experience of helping to set up and develop teaching of year 7 from scratch within Math’s. This job has given me the chance to gain new skills and knowledge (especially with I-pads). Joining the team at the beginning of school’s growth has helped to guide, promote and expand the Mathematics subject within the school. I am very grateful for the time given to me to be able to devote my energy into creating personalize lessons for my class and students.
- EmployeeThis is the first Secondary School I've worked in that has retained the personalized, caring atmosphere normally associated with Primary Schools. Every member of staff, no matter their responsibility knows out students and our students are really happy children. I love working with our team.
