Established in 2001, British International School, Lagos (BIS) is a co-education Independent international School located in the Nigerian city of Lagos. The school was founded to provide a British education to students aged 11-18. From September 2021 the school will welcome primary aged pupils to its purpose built Junior School. The school resides on a 30-acre site and accepts both day and boarding pupils. Older pupils sit IGCSE/GCSE and A Level examinations with most continuing their education in the UK or North America. The curriculum at BIS is well supported by a range of modern academic and recreational facilities, including a 25-metre swimming pool, a fully equipped library, a basketball court, and an extensive modern residential area providing boarding to a large proportion of the school’s students.

Teaching Information
Teachers at BIS teach across the full range of the school’s students, and are expected to have strong relevant experience of the British National Curriculum. Teachers are expected also to take a full part in the community and life of the school.
