About Christ the King Sixth Forms: St Mary's

About Christ the King Sixth Forms: Aquinas

Welcome to Christ the King Sixth Forms

Established in 1992, Christ the King is a group of Catholic sixth forms in the South London area, dedicated to the education and development of the whole person.

Offering exceptional, expert teaching in a welcoming, friendly atmosphere, each CTK sixth form creates an environment where high achievement is promoted and attained.

Our students aim high and enjoy being part of our community. This means receiving extensive pastoral support, connecting with our successful alumni, and studying a bespoke graduate programme to becoming confident, ambitious young people. CTK vision All young people at Christ the King Sixth Forms are:

• Encouraged to be ambitious and high achieving

• Challenged to be resilient, confident, creative and courageous.

• Educated to be articulate, curious, reflective and capable.

• Supported to develop the virtues of loyalty, respect, care and commitment.

• Inspired to live principled, moral and dignified lives.

The CTK Graces Our Character Education Programme, is the articulation of our mission and the distinctive vision we have for every student who studies at Christ the King Sixth Forms.

The CTK Graces signify the character traits that we ensure our students develop – so that they model the expectations, habits and behaviours inherent in a scholarly approach to learning. These are:

• G – Grit

• R – Respect

• A – Awareness

• C – Curiosity

• E – Endeavour

• S – Self-control

In doing this we enrich our communities and challenge our students to live a good life in all its fullness.

Our motto is: Ut Vitam Habeant - That they may have life in all its fullness. John 10:10

What people say about us

I really enjoy working at CTK, the progression opportunities are outstanding and my career has gone from strength to strength. There is a real community sense and everyone is so friendly and warm. Having three sixth forms as part of one family, there are tremendous opportunities for collaboration and sharing good practice. After working at CTK St Mary’s for 7 years, I’m excited to be starting my new role at CTK Emmanuel.

- Paula Amony, Assistant Principal of Character and Wellbeing and Catholic Education

CTK is a supportive and friendly environment. Teaching Biology is my passion. My background in medical drug safety enables me to apply context and enrichment to a highly academic and challenging learning environment.

- Shahada Hasan, Science Coordinator

The company culture is warm and supportive which resonates with Christ the Kings ethos and values. I enjoy working with like-minded people who work towards achieving a mutual goal. Management listen and care about staffs wants and needs so staff feel this greater strength of thriving. My continual, professional development is important to me and I have been lucky enough to receive numerous training opportunities such as taking part in a Prince2 Project Management course.

- Libby Pointing, HR and Projects Coordinator and Head of Administration and Office Management

While working as a Media teacher, I have worked with very supportive departmental, pastoral and senior leadership teams – all of whom have motivated and encouraged me to become a better practitioner. My journey at the sixth form is evidence of the nurturing and supportive ethos of the college, everyone is really given the chance to grow and flourish in their professional careers.

- Gabrielle Baffour, Coordinator of Media, Art and Design
