About Heritage International School
History and Ethos
Heritage International School is an independent school established to provide high-quality educational services to local and expatriate communities in Russia. The school is part of Heritage Education Group, a leading private schools organisation in Russia. The school offers contemporary British international education to students from Pre-Nursery to Year Eleven.
Our Vision
Make a difference through education.
Our Mission
Educate the leaders of tomorrow, providing the knowledge, skills and values they need to make our world a better place.
Each element of the School’s mission is infused with meaning:
Leaders of Tomorrow
By leaders, we mean people around us who have a certain type of skills: the knowledge and competence that comes from their learning and experience, and their ability to motivate others to learn, grow and act accordingly. It involves recognizing that you are a true leader only when you have earned the trust of others, and when others recognise you as such.
Leaders do not learn their place in the world - they make their place in the world.
Make a Difference
Making a difference is when people create real value for society, and who create value before claiming value. There are many ways of making a positive difference: as a student, as a teacher, as a parent, as an active citizen of your community. Indeed, what distinguishes Heritage School is that our students and staff members demonstrate, develop and disseminate leadership skills in all that we do.
Make our World a Better Place
We understand that our world is changing and has challenging issues which require a global perspective. To address these challenging problems the world needs more leaders with a global mindset.
That is why our first component of the mission is educating leaders, which we do in many ways - through our academic curriculum, values based learning, and much more.
Our Values
The mission of Heritage School is to educate the leaders of tomorrow, providing the knowledge, skills and values they need to make our world a better place. Achieving this mission requires a trustful and respectful environment where people are free to express themselves and to continually seek truth and excellence in what they do. Students, staff, parents and our alumni accept these principles when they join the Heritage community.
In doing so, they agree to follow the following Community Values:
Respect
We act with no harm to other’s feelings and seek to treat one another the way we want to be treated.
We honor diversity and consider ideas and opinions that are new or different to our own.
Responsibility
We are ready to own tasks and duties and get them done.
We are conscious of the actions we take and confident in making difficult choices.
We are responsible for ourselves, others and our environment.
Growth Mindset
Our abilities change and grow through determination and resilience, by setting high goals and being open to innovation.
We accept difficulties and failures as opportunities to grow and we seek inspiration in others’ success.
Destination and Campus Location
Moscow. Europe’s easternmost and largest capital city thrills with its artistry, history and majesty. Moscow exudes prosperity and vigour through her diverse architecture, from the vibrantly painted churches decorated with golden domes to carved-marble metro stations. Cosmopolitan in flavour, Russia's capital hosts an active and diverse expat community. Moscow always has something to offer from spacious green parks, world-class opera and ballet, facilities for every kind of imaginable sport, and endless dining experiences. And better yet, it offers the perfect jumping-off point for countless tourist destinations across Europe and beyond.
Heritage International School is located in the east of the city centre, part of a luxury residential area where many visiting foreign families live, surrounded by beautiful gardens and parks. There are numerous business centres near the campus. The school facilities are brand new and opened in September 2020 for students from Pre-Nursery to Year Six, with secondary school pupils joining in September 2021. We teach both the Cambridge and the Russian curricula and have an exciting extra-curricular activities programme. All classes are limited to a maximum of 18 students, with the younger years receiving additional classroom support through Learning Assistants and Nannies. Throughout the school, the Cambridge curriculum is taught for approximately 75% of the time with the remainder given to the Russian curriculum. Our expatriate students study Russian as an additional language but also have time to explore their own interests through a personalised learning programme. Our education is based on a values-based education system.

Location
Overall positive and very professional attitude of the school staff and school administration, very European approach towards educational process overall. We have experience and overview of the same category of educational centres in Moscow - and can definitely state that Heritage is one of the best at the moment! well done guys! thumbs up
- Heritage International School ParentFor some time I have wanted to work in Russia. So when a job came up to work in a brand new school in Moscow, I jumped at the chance. Working for the Heritage International school is turning out to be the best career choice that I have made in my international teaching journey so far. It has been a wonderful experience getting to know all the Heritage staff and working with the kids in year 2. The school itself is brand new and so there is a great sense of community and it feels like one big family. As for living in Moscow? Although the COVID restrictions are in place, as in wearing masks and keeping 1.5 metres distance, Moscow life is running as normal as it can be. In fact Moscow never sleeps! There are lots of things to do and so many places to visit. For me, I have only touched the tip of the iceberg but look forward to the next few years here so I can explore all the hidden gems that Russia has to offer.
- Ms Mandy, Heritage International School TeacherFrom my first day at Heritage, I have felt so welcomed by each and every one of the fantastic people here. We really do have a wonderful team who genuinely care about the children and each other. It’s great to work in such a supportive environment where staff always go above and beyond the call of duty. Moscow is an amazing city in which to live and work; there’s so much to see and do. It’s so easy to get around the city and it has everything you need. Heritage have arranged some great social events too!
- Ms Marn, Heritage International School TeacherI chose to be part of Heritage because I am interested in promoting a values-based education which will prepare our children with the skills they need now, and in the future. I am proud to be part of an incredibly welcoming community at Heritage. I am surrounded by staff across school who are committed and dedicated, and provide a caring and nurturing environment in which children can achieve. In the time that I have been here, I have been impressed with the atmosphere and morale between staff. Across our campus, people go the extra mile to help each other and genuinely care about the well-being of their co-workers. Heritage also does a good job of helping staff to meet up outside of school. We have been for tours of Moscow, meals together and several team-building activities. Heritage made the move to Moscow very easy. International members of staff were met at the airport and provided with a welcome pack. After that, the school community have been able to help us every step of the way and ensured that we felt settled and comfortable to life in Russia.
- Mr Richard, Heritage International School TeacherHeritage school has been nothing but supportive and welcoming. They have provided support with housing, healthcare, banking and being introduced to the city. The whole team is always willing to help when needed. Management and the teaching team have been very supportive during my NQT year and have always given me their time and patience. The school feels like a small community where staff and students support and work with each other. The school has a clear vision that strives for the best for the children.
- Mr Sam, Heritage International School TeacherWorking at Heritage International school we are all part of a ‘family’ working as a team in creating the best learning experiences for our children. The children have a fantastic attitude to learning and are enthusiastic and engaged. The Cambridge Curriculum offers a structure with flexibility to adapt and change to meet the needs of every child. Working and living in Moscow is unique, it’s a vibrant city with many shopping centers and a range of leisure activities to suit everyone. The city is easy to negotiate as the transport system is good. You can quickly learn the basic words in Russian but it is not necessary to live here as many people speak English and are helpful. - Heritage International School StudentI like this school because my child likes it! The teachers always help the students explore the world and learn new things. I can also see that every student’s opinion is treated with respect and everyone feels confident when sharing feelings and ideas.
- Heritage International School ParentThe school is really fun, people respect each other and they are nice. The teachers are kind, they know how to make things fun, and I learn a lot.
