About Kirkham Grammar School
Kirkham Grammar School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school located in Preston, Lancashire. The school educates pupils from 3 to 18 years within the Junior, Infant and Pre-School, through to our Senior School and Sixth Form.
Founded in 1549, although its history can be traced back to the 13th century, work on the present site first began in 1909 and the front range of the school remains a Grade II listed building. In recent years, the school has prospered and enrolment has risen to a capacity of 900.

Kirkham Grammar School aims to provide an excellent education that continues to develop the whole child. This is achieved through its three core values: Family Ethos, Inspirational Teaching and Fulfil Potential.
Academic results compare well above national averages, with 27% of pupils achieving A/A* star at A Level.
The family ethos of the school is also prevalent in its boarding house, which offers some of the best-value boarding opportunities in the country. The house accommodates around 80 pupils between the ages of 11 and 18.
