About Middlestown Primary Academy
Middlestown Primary Academy is a mixed nursery, infant and junior academy, situated in a rural village close to Wakefield, and set within expansive grounds.
The academy has a broad, balanced and creative curriculum which aims to ensure that children are engaged in their learning and above all enjoy coming to school. It benefits from enthusiastic, caring and professional staff who work hard to ensure this happens.
The academy wants every child to reach their potential, with a lifelong love of learning, offering pupils, not only new skills, knowledge and understanding, but also key learning attributes that will enable them to succeed as they begin their path in life.
Being at the heart of the community and enjoying good support from all stakeholders, it understands that partnership is an important aspect to the ongoing development of schools and academies. With this in mind, it works alongside Ossett Academy & Accord Sixth Form, Horbury Academy and Horbury Primary Academy as part of the Accord Multi Academy Trust.
The vision of this partnership is to enhance both practice and knowledge of learning across primary and secondary education, whilst also providing access for pupils and staff to an even better range of opportunities in order to achieve excellence.

“Pupils are very well mannered and enjoy helping others. They greet other pupils and adults warmly. Holding doors open for each other and adults is the norm for pupils….They are proud of their school and are eager to make newcomers feel welcome.”
- Ofsted“Staff support each other very well. They say that the school is ‘a lovely place to be’. They set a wonderful example of strong teamwork. This rubs off on pupils, who work well together and care for one another.”
