About Risley Avenue Primary School
Risley Avenue Primary School is a larger than average sized primary school serving a richly diverse community. We are situated in the heart of Tottenham in the London Borough of Haringey, close to Bruce Castle Park and Bruce Castle Museum, on The Roundway.
The school building is Grade 2 listed and is located on a large site, it was built in 1912. We have our own school garden, which our children enjoy using to grow vegetables and plants. Over the years we have invested in the structure of the school; in September 2011 a new school entrance and parents` resource centre was created in September 2012 a dedicated food technology classroom was opened. In 2014 the school gained a dedicated art block and both playgrounds were updated with new climbing frames and table-tennis equipment.
The school is a three form entry Primary School with an Early Years Foundation Stage which comprises three Reception Classes and a Nursery which can facilitate up to 103 part-time places. We serve a very diverse community and our school population, pupils and staff, reflects our community; pupils refer to our school as a “Rainbow School”. Our children speak over 40 different languages and come from a range of cultures, religions and backgrounds, which we respect and value. It is a happy and stimulating learning environment where every child is encouraged and supported to achieve their very best.
