Riverside College

Riverside College is a mixed, non-denominational further education and tertiary college for students aged 16 and over.

The College was founded in 2006 after a merger between Halton College and Widnes & Runcorn Sixth Form College.  The College has two main sites focused around the Kingsway Campus and Cronton Sixth Form College.

Riverside College offers a range of education options to students, including academic qualifications, professional courses, apprenticeships, adult learning courses and higher education.

The College places the student at the centre of everything it does.  It aims to help all learners realise their full potential during their time at the college.  Staff aim to deliver the very best teaching, along with a broad range of enrichment activities.  Personal tutor and teachers care about their students’ progress and hope to foster a friendly, safe and caring environment.

Riverside College wishes to create a community on each campus where all students can flourish and feel valued.

“The implementation of study programmes is effective.  Clear progression routes are in place at all levels with a range of academic or vocational programmes preparing students well for their next step.  The design of programmes includes an appropriate focus to improve students’ skills in English and Mathematics and more students are studying these subjects than previously.”
