The Gateway Academy

We would like to express our sincere gratitude for taking the time to show us around The Gateway Academy this morning. It was incredibly helpful to see the school in action, particularly during lesson times. We were very impressed with the school’s facilities, the positive atmosphere, and the dedication of the staff. The tour, combined with our attendance at the open evening on September 11th, has solidified The Gateway Academy as our first choice for our child’s secondary education. We were particularly impressed by the school's commitment to staff retention and its positive approach to student discipline. We believe that a well-managed and supportive school environment is essential for students to thrive. We look forward to joining the Gateway community and hope to receive an offer on offer day in March.

It was amazing to walk around the academy this morning with the CEO of another Trust, who is also a member of the DfE Advisory Board. She was absolutely blown away by what she saw and heard from the leadership team and is keen to bring members of her team to see what we are doing. It was wonderful to observe the consistency regarding expectations across the academy, while also witnessing the craft of outstanding teaching in various subjects. The shared strengths included high expectations, excellent relationships, superb modelling, and a variety of strategies being employed to secure exceptional student progress.

Working at our Academy every day is truly special. I feel like part of a team that is doing everything it can to help our students and each other achieve exceptional things. I am proud of the work we are doing and the unbelievable progress our students are making.

I have just received the wonderful news that I have been awarded a First Class Honours degree in Medical Science. I wanted to take a moment to let you know that the hard work Gateway puts into its students and the community is deeply appreciated. Please pass on my heartfelt gratitude to all of the staff. Thank you for giving me a future.

Thank you for providing my son with such brilliant opportunities. He loves being part of the basketball team and the student leadership team, and he is learning so much in his lessons. I am incredibly proud of all that he is achieving under your guidance.

The ethos and atmosphere are warm and friendly. It is clear that there are strong relationships between staff and students, and the staff are always prepared to go the extra mile for the young people in their care.

The calm, purposeful environment seen in many lessons ensures that pupils can work hard and enjoy heir learning. Many pupils share their teachers’ high aspirations. They want to do well and are keen to participate in activities and complete the work set.
