Warminster School

Warminster is a co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 3 to 18 in the South West of England. Life at Warminster is a busy one, filled with academic and co-curricular activity, discovery and adventure.

Our aim is simple: to inspire a life-long love of learning in those around us. So every day we use our expertise, ingenuity and enthusiasm to do just that. All children enjoy and are good at something; a school's job is to help them find and nurture their talents. Our experienced teaching staff continually encourage academic aspiration and learning. Young people today face an unpredictable world but there are certain timeless aspects of a genuine education. We place strong emphasis on character and values and we want our pupils to leave as well-rounded, well-mannered, self-confident, articulate and fundamentally decent people with a sense of duty and integrity.

Pastoral care is the most important aspect of any school: a child who is happy and feels safe can flourish and Warminster is committed to providing a secure and supportive pastoral environment. Living and learning with each other requires good social skills and we also place strong emphasis on the importance of ‘social learning’, along with qualities such as tolerance, patience and compassion.

We offer a wide range of co-curricular opportunities and experiences, and foster a culture of enthusiasm, optimism and ‘getting stuck in’. We prepare our pupils for life beyond school - at university and in the world of work. Most of all, though, we are a community, in which each boy and girl is valued and nurtured on the basis of who they are, whatever their age, natural gifts or background.

The International Baccalaureate Diploma is offered as an alternative to A Levels in our thriving Sixth Form. The Diploma provides a range of academic choices within a challenging and stimulating curriculum, together with a wide variety of practical activities which invite creativity, action and service.

Warminster School is located in the town of Warminster in Wiltshire – a peaceful and attractive rural setting, on the edge of Salisbury Plain. With good road and rail links we are a little under two hours from London by train and within easy reach of Bath, Bristol and Salisbury.
