Message from the Principal

It is a great honour and privilege to lead the Wellacre community as Principal.

Wellacre is a safe, happy and caring school which students are happy and proud to attend.

Staff are dedicated and committed to the school and its values and we work together to instill a strong sense of belonging for all.

Our priorities are the right ones for our students and we pursue them relentlessly:

• We invest in a thriving school environment which is safe, welcoming and inclusive.
• We provide a broad, balanced and ambitious curriculum, so every student can fulfill their potential, whatever their background or need.
• We have strong inclusive practices at the heart of everything we do and promote wellbeing, fairness and equity for all.
• We provide the right challenge and support at the right time from highly skilled  staff, to enable everyone at Wellacre to be successful.
• We create confident, knowledgeable and skillful students who tell us they "feel included" and have a strong sense of identity. 

Our school values matter to us and are used to exemplify the attitudes and behaviours we expect from all our students.

Our ethos and values are reinforced through our House system with each student belonging to either Lowry, Pankhurst or Turing. The Houses reinforce our sense of belonging. Students are provided with opportunities to broaden their knowledge, interests and skills though our Co-Curricular provision which includes the Royal Navy Cadets, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Ecology projects, Chess Club, Book Club & EDT Industrial Cadets.

Our commitment to the continuing professional development of all our staff is recognised in the Teacher Development Trust Gold Award. Our policies and practices promote positive mental, physical and emotional wellbeing, including:
