Woodford Church of England Primary School

Woodford Church of England Primary School is a growing primary school with over 110 pupils from aged 2-11. There is a purposeful, calm atmosphere in the school where children have fun but are expected to work hard and learn new skills. The children are incredibly well behaved and are supported by a hard-working team of teachers, assistant teachers and other members of the support team. The staff share a responsibility for making learning life at school exciting, fun and enjoyable but also for raising standards. Above all else, we all know that happy children make the best learners!

Our Aims

Our aim is for every child to flourish and we value the pursuit of knowledge, doing the right thing, leadership and teamwork. Our long-term plan aims to realise the following vision for a calm and purposeful environment. We aim to create an environment of success where children can:

Our Vision

Our school vision "Shine among them like stars in the sky" Phil 2:14-16 enables our school community to celebrate each child as an individual and to support them to nurture their uniqueness, passions and talents.

Our Values

We encourage an understanding of faith and culture in our diverse world, and reflect upon the Christian values (compassion, courage, forgiveness, friendship, generosity, justice, perseverance, respect, service, thankfulness, trust, truthfulness) which are an integral part of our school culture.

Our most recent Ofsted Inspection in May 2023 defined Woodford Church of England Primary School as a good school, with a warm, friendly atmosphere. Children feel confident and secure in their surroundings and the staff know all the children as individuals. Children trust that staff will help them deal with any worries they might have, with one Year 6 child summarising it perfectly when they told inspectors, ‘I feel safe because everyone will help here. Everyone cares for each other at Woodford.’

Our most recent SIAMS Inspection in November 2019 felt there was a 'Distinctive Christian vision established and promoted', as a result 'RE is enjoyed by children', enabling our children to 'Reflect on the school values' meaning Woodford Church of England Primary School is a good school.
