Chemistry and Science Teacher

Due to our growing numbers of students, the International School Brunei requires an experienced teacher to join the successful Secondary School Sciences faculty. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic faculty focused on the highest possible standards of teaching and learning. The ability to teach, and experience of, Chemistry to Key Stage 5 is a requirement and IB experience is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will also teach Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 science.   

Established in 1964, International School Brunei (ISB) has nearly 60 years of experience as a non-profit, vibrant, inclusive school. Science is a popular subject at ISB with high levels of attainment, enjoyment and engagement. All students follow an adapted British Curriculum at KS3, then opt to study either Coordinated or Triple Science at IGCSE (through Cambridge Assessment International Examinations). At IBDP, students can choose from any of the Group 4 science options. The Science faculty is well resourced, with modern laboratories and access to a wide range of practical equipment, supported by an excellent science technician. 

ISB is an inclusive school, therefore the successful candidate will need to have a wide range of pedagogical approaches to teaching and be able to deliver innovative and engaging lessons which challenge all students in a supportive environment. 

The successful candidate will have (minimum): 

• a B Ed. Teaching degree in a relevant field 
• a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with a PGCE or equivalent teaching diploma 
• experience teaching KS5 Chemistry, with IBDP experience a distinct advantage
