We are searching for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join us on this incredible journey, and to help one of our students who needs additional support achieve their best possible outcomes during their time at The Deanery.

This is a temporary post working 37 hours a week term time only plus inset days.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated, caring and committed professional, able to provide a high standard of support and will need to be able to plan, deliver and monitor learning opportunities to meet the needs of the individual student.

You will need to be an enthusiastic, adaptable and motivated individual who:

  • is passionate about promoting learning and achievement for all.
  • has experience of working with children with with SEN / SEMH needs
  • has excellent communication skills to establish positive home/school relationships.
  • has a helpful, caring and understanding nature.
  • has proficient skills in literacy and numeracy.


You will be required to:

  • Work with the individual or with small groups of children.
  • Support children with their additional personal needs whilst implementing planned learning activities/programmes.
  • Show initiative and flexibility
  • Build effective relationships with children, parents and colleagues.

This post is suited to those have experience as a Teaching Assistant in a Secondary setting, as we are a small, but hardworking team. You will have also achieved at least GCSE Grade C or Grade 5 in English and Mathematics (or equivalent).

Salary: HAY 11 £21,029 - £21,255 (pro rata) £17,930 - £18,123 (actual)

The Deanery CE Academy is a new school in the heart of the community of Wichelstowe, Swindon. Just 10 minutes from J16 on the M4. We have the most amazing facilities on site at the Wichelstowe Trinity Learning Campus, and beyond within our wonderful new community.
