Novalis Trust, is a charity that supports children and adults with Neurodevelopmental Difficulties and other learning needs. Full Time and Part time Permanent Positions are available for teachers at our trauma-informed school.

Novalis Trust has opportunities at Cotswold Chine School for both ECTs and suitably qualified experienced teachers. There could also opportunities for nonqualified teachers i.e. those completing an appropriate accreditation towards qualified status, willing to do so in employment with us or with strong experience working in schools (for example experienced TAs, HLTA’S OR Cover Supervisors).

We are a supportive team who welcome teachers from all backgrounds and levels of experience looking to begin a career in special educational needs teaching. We specialise in trauma-informed, attachment-focused relationship based, therapeutic approach to teaching. Our schools provide a nurturing environment for teachers to develop their existing experience or build on their teacher training as an ECT.

Responsibilities for this role:

·      At our schools the successful candidate will teach and nurture a small class group of 4-8 students and with an experienced co-teacher. The co-teacher usually plays a mentor role for new teaching staff when they first join the school before forming a longer-term partnership to teach their assigned class.

Requirements for this role are:

·      The ability to form relationships with young people, reliability, resilience and a flexible approach to working with others are important.

·      Experience in special needs is not essential as training will be provided.
