Academic Improvement Mentor – (part time, term time for up to 33 weeks per year, Fixed Term Contract until 21st June 2024)
Hours will be worked as and when required by agreement, between the hours of 8.30am and 5.00pm for up to 25 hours per week, for up to 33 weeks per year.
Some of this work will be supporting students after college, at weekends or during college holidays.
Required to support a range of subject areas.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Will work with students on a one-to-one or small group basis
- Have a high level of academic literacy and good subject knowledge
- Have up to date knowledge of the national curriculum and other relevant learning programmes/strategies
- Have experience of coaching young people
- Have an understanding of learning, teaching and assessment processes

For example (based on working 33 weeks per year):
- 15 hours per week – annual pro rated salary £5,908
- 25 hours per week – annual pro rated salary £9,848

About Luton Sixth Form College
Luton Sixth Form College is a specialist Sixth Form College, providing academic and general vocational education for 16 to 18 year olds in Luton.
Established in September 1966, we are the oldest Sixth Form College in the country and have an enviable reputation for quality and excellence. We are also one of the largest, with more than 2,800 students taking a vast array of A Level and BTEC courses.

Our site was redeveloped between 2008 and 2010 and the original grammar school buildings were replaced by a £56m campus offering state-of-the-art facilities and modern resources for staff and students.
