Hurworth House are recruiting for an Administrator to join a busy and professional administration team. We are looking for enthusiastic multitasker, who is highly skilled and proficient in the use of Microsoft office, excel & word. The successful candidate who be a solution focused member of the team and be able to prioritise competing deadlines in a professional manner.

Hurworth House School provides specialist education for boys and girls with SEMH difficulties and autism. Our staff are highly trained, skilled and experienced in supporting and educating our children, many of whom have a co-morbid diagnosis. The school is registered to provide education to up to 80 students aged between 5 and 19 years.

Communication – Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Positive working relationships, teamwork and communication play a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.


Organisation –You will need to be confident and organised in general office duties, minute taking and handling student records.


Attentive – No two tasks are the same, so being attentive to greet all visitors, answering telephone calls, booking in appointments, as well as scheduling reviews with other professions.

Hurworth House is a specialist day school located near Darlington for boys and girls aged 7 to 19 years who have complex learning difficulties including behavioural, emotional and social difficulties (BESD) and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD). The young people may also have challenging behaviour as a result of their difficulties.

The newly refurbished school has been specifically designed to educate young people with complex needs and associated behaviours. Our school provides a spacious resourced environment in which young people can achieve goals, thrive and grow. Hurworth House can provide places for up to 40 young people. Placements are flexible, including extended day options, for 38 weeks of the year. Many of the young people referred to the school will have a Statement of Special Educational Need, although this is not an admission requirement.
