The BSN is one of the oldest not-for-profit international schools in the Netherlands. Established in 1931, it is set on four stunning campuses. The BSN has a reputation for providing an outstanding education to over 2,000 students aged 3 to 18, representing nearly 90 nationalities. It is non-selective and an innovative role model in promoting high-quality educational practices both in school and remotely.
The role:
The Admissions Manager will report directly to our Head of Communications and Admissions and will be assisted by an Admissions Officer. The Admissions Manager is part of a department of nine highly educated, skilled and motivated specialists in the Communications and Admissions Department who work in a fast-paced environment. There is a balance of self-led and collaborative work. This dynamic team values different perspectives, diverse experiences, and new approaches.
The successful candidate would be based at our central services office in Voorburg, a picturesque town not far from The Hague, and would be expected to travel between all four of our campuses on a regular basis.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Communicating with prospective students' parents/guardians to ensure they receive accurate and timely information and advice regarding admission to the school.
- Ensuring the smooth running of visits and conducting tours of our school in and out of term time as required, service standards and quality assurance procedures are met and evolve with parent /guardian expectations and needs.
- Ensuring the admissions, conversion approach, and associated processes enables the BSN to optimise the achievement of student recruitment targets. Significant accountability is also provided for conversion from enquiry, whether unsubstantiated or substantiated, to application and application to enrolment.
- Working alongside the Head of Communications and Admissions and the Admissions Officer to devise an effective and strategic approach to admissions.
- Generating and maintaining a close network of partners, prospective parents, students, feeder schools, partner organisations, local businesses, relocation agents and visitors to the school.
- Maintaining accurate data in school systems is essential to enable responsive decision-making through the enrolment process and accurate forecasting during annual planning.
- With the assistance of the Admissions Officer, planning, coordinating and implementing a successful programme of events, including recruitment fairs, open mornings, taster days, etc.,
- Act as an ambassador, representing the school in engagements relating to admissions with key external stakeholders and embodying the values and ethos of the BSN.
The successful candidate:
The British School is looking for a dynamic and experienced Admissions Manager who understands the importance of providing prospective families with personalised experiences while driving continuous improvement in admissions strategies.
We aim to enhance our Communications and Admissions strategy by broadening the experience offered to prospective parents and staff. The successful candidate must have experience with or consideration of, the customer experience and reflect this throughout the entire admissions process.
Your role requires experience with the following:
- Collaborating closely with the Communications team to ensure that every step of the admissions process reflects our values and messaging, taking the time to understand each family’s unique needs and how the school can support their child’s academic and personal growth.
- An understanding and experience of sales and marketing principles is essential, along with the ability to report on performance.
- Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work as part of a team and build effective and trusting relationships and professional networks in the wider community.
- A collaborative approach to teamwork and a warm and welcoming personality are key elements for success in this role.
- First-class organisational and administrative skills – planning, prioritising and managing a varied workload.
- Confident technology user, including databases (Sims), use data for analysis, reporting, monitoring, forecasting, and planning.
- Ability to work flexibly, see what needs to be done and rise to the challenge.
- Good judgement, understanding of the importance of confidentiality, high integrity and a genuine commitment to maintaining the reputation and values of the BSN.
- A commitment to professional development of self.
- Knowledge of the British educational pathways, GCSE, IB, BTEC, A Level.

- Salary range: €4,163.11 - €5,665.40 monthly gross, plus 9% holiday allowance. The salary will be determined based on experience.
- 33.5 days holiday per year plus BSN and public holidays.
