Job overview
Hurst Lodge School is seeking a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our team and ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The successful candidates will work 2 hours per day (Monday to Thursday 4pm to 6pm and Friday, 2pm to 4pm), and be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the school's facilities. You will be part of a small team comprising of 4 others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean classrooms, offices, corridors, restrooms, and communal areas to a high standard.
- Dust, vacuum, mop, and sweep designated areas daily.
- Empty bins and dispose of waste according to school policies.
- Ensure safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage, or hazards to the Facilities Manager.
- Follow a daily/weekly cleaning schedule and respond to any urgent cleaning tasks as needed.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and materials are stored securely after use.
Requirements:
- Previous cleaning experience (preferred but not essential).
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Friendly and professional attitude.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work safely within a school environment.
- Good physical condition, as the role may involve some lifting and bending.
