Rainbow International School is a coeducational 2 – 18 years day and boarding school in Kampala, Uganda. As the most established, reputable and one of largest International schools in the country, we deliver the EYFS and IPC curricula in the Primary section, English National curriculum at Key Stage 3 and Cambridge IGCSE and Advanced Level in Key Stages 4 and 5. We also offer BTEC Level 3 courses as an alternative pathway to University.

 

The Post:

We are seeking an experienced and well qualified individual to fill this role. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a thriving Art department. This role offers the chance to teach Art up to A Level. Ability to teach the BTEC Art programme is desirable.

 

Experience:

  • Be a qualified Art Teacher and have a thorough knowledge of Secondary Art (English National Curriculum)
  • Should have a minimum of three years teaching experience, after acquiring a teaching degree/PGCE/PGDE/QTS, in the UK or overseas in a British curriculum school
  • Be able to teach Art from KS3 through to A level 
  • Be willing and able to offer other subjects in addition to your specialist area should the need arise
  • Be willing to take on opportunities to teach some lessons in other sections of the school should the opportunity arise
  • The ability to teach ceramics and or textiles would be highly desirable
  • Experience of working in an International school
  • Have an advanced ability to use ICT to support and enhance learning in the classroom/your lessons
  • Be able to engage, motivate and support children, colleagues and parents
  • A working knowledge of Google Apps
  • Experience of being fully involved in different after school extra-curricular activities
  • Should be professional both in conduct and appearance and fully committed to the life of the school (including school events)

Qualifications:

●      Either Bachelor of Education in Art

●      Or Bachelor’s degree + Post Graduate Diploma/Certificate in Education (PGDE/PGCE) in Art
