Job overview

Bright Learners Private School is looking for dedicated, qualified, and experienced Assessment Coordinator to join the team. The successful candidate will provide leadership in the coordination and support for the overall development, scheduling, administration and quality of the school-wide balanced assessment program (Internal & External). The candidate will collect, disaggregate, and analyze assessment data to identify strengths and areas of development. Under the supervision of the Principal, is responsible for guiding teachers and leaders in aspects of assessment and holding teachers accountable for the development of valid and reliable assessment and the effective use of student data.


Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead faculty members and academic staff in the scheduling and administration of all external assessments, within the National Agenda Parameter’s timeline, for all grade levels including MAP, CAT4, TIMMS, PISA, etc.
  • Lead faculty members and academic staff in preparation of data analysis for DSIB inspections
  • Supports the purchases all necessary licenses and/or resources for teachers and students’ preparation for external assessments 
  • Provides training and guidance for heads of departments; interfaces with staff to report and extract data; and produces data to assist in the evaluation of programs.
  • Provides leadership and support in developing, implementing, monitoring, and sustaining a comprehensive learner data and assessment system that connects assessment to instruction and facilitates the use of assessment results to target instruction and intervention.
  • Works with the academic team to raise standards of student attainment and achievement within the whole curriculum area and to monitor and support student progress.
  • Provides ongoing support for assessment activities, assists with the analysis of assessment methods and results and report such results to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinates the collection, evaluation, and dissemination of all academic, support, and administrative units.


Skills, Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in relevant subject
  • Total 3+ years in American curriculum school and 3 years in similar capacity
  • Experienced in coordination and administration of internal and external assessments
  • Able to train and guide heads of departments; interfaces with staff to report and extract data; and produces data to assist in the evaluation of programs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to clearly communicate about assessment methods and results in non-technical language.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required.
