Permanent, 37 hours per week / Term Time + 2 weeks

Rushcliffe Spencer Academy is a highly successful 11-18 comprehensive school located in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Rushcliffe Spencer Academy has been judged outstanding in all areas by Ofsted and, in 2021, was reaccredited as a World Class School for the second time.

We require a positive, committed and empathetic individual to join our pastoral support team as an Assistant Head of Year (Non-Teaching). The successful applicant will support one of our five heads of year (teachers), working alongside four other assistant heads of year and our attendance officer in our Pupil Support Unit. The role requires you to collaborate with staff across the school. The successful applicant will be someone who communicates well and can build excellent relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents in order to provide the best support possible for our young people. The role is wide and varied and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to use their knowledge and skills to be creative and innovative in identifying and providing ways to support their year group.

Rushcliffe Spencer Academy is a highly successful 11-18 comprehensive school located in West Bridgford, Nottingham. Recognised as ‘outstanding’ since 2014, inspectors concluded that “Students receive an excellent education, both academically and in their personal development, preparing them exceptionally well for the next stage of their education or for employment.”

For a number of years Rushcliffe has been one of the highest achieving schools in the region at GCSE and a high percentage of Rushcliffe Sixth Form students move on to study at the most prestigious universities.

In 2015 Rushcliffe were awarded the World Class Schools Quality Mark. The only school in the East Midlands to be awarded such an honour in recognition of taking the school “beyond outstanding”
