Due to the continued success of our GEMS Founders School Dubai, We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Headteacher - Secondary– January 2025.

We are looking for an outstanding, innovative leader to join the GEMS Founders Family. The successful candidate will play a key role in the Associate Senior Leadership Team.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing the Quality Assurance of the curriculum, data and assessment.
- Ensuring the quality of provision for the Curriculum and the use of Data and Assessment.
- Managing these key areas across the school to ensure consistency and impact.
- Monitoring and tracking the Curriculum and Assessment across the whole school.
- Planning and delivering CPD to staff in these areas.
- Forming working groups to analyse the processes/systems in place and consider and new initiatives.
- To be the lead professional in these areas both in the school and for all external facing meetings/organisations.
- To develop and deliver parental engagement to work with key stakeholders and deliver key messages.
- Support with the self-evaluation and school improvement process for the school in your key area.
- Be a key member of the Leadership Team in all GFS events.

- To be responsible for the promotion of a positive climate for learning by ensuring:
- to support transition arrangements through the school
- a commitment to equal opportunities and student entitlement
- that the school code of conduct and uniform policy are adhered to
- that there is good behaviour in classrooms and around the school
- that the Key Stage has internal structures to promote positive behaviour and to manage disciplinary matters in liaison with the Student Welfare and House Teams
The successful applicant will have the following:
- A certified teaching qualification, at degree level such as B.Ed, PGCE, PGDE or equivalent. A specialism in Modern Foreign Language would be preferential
- At least 4 years of solid and demonstrable experience in teaching Secondary School in a British curriculum school
- Experience in a similar role
- The desire to provide outstanding teaching and learning
- Aspiration to work in a world class school with real prospects for enhancing their career
- Excellent IT and interpersonal communication skills to work closely with students and parents
- A creative and enthusiastic approach both in and out of the classroom

GEMS Founders School, Dubai (GFS) opened its doors in September 2016 to over 1800 students from FS1 – Year 8. This is the most successful school opening in GEMS Education history in terms of enrolment. In September 2017, we welcomed over 3500 students and extended the school to Year 9. In September 2018, we opened our Year 10 and Year 12 (International GCSE and A Level curriculum) and started that year with 3800 children. In 2019, we reached the capacity of 4260 students in Phases 1 and 2 of our original building and in 2021 expanded to Phase 3 to provide additional facilities for extended curriculum options. We reached full capacity in 2022 with 6139 children from FS1 – Year 13. Since opening, we have established a positive learning environment for our children and staff following both the National Curriculum for England and UAE Ministry of Education curricular.
