Job overview
Kingsway Park High School was established in 2010 and joined the Altus Education Partnership in February 2022. We are now a very popular oversubscribed school (1350 students in years 7-11 and 190 staff) located in central Rochdale. We are very proud of the high-quality facilities, resources, and environment that we provide for both staff and students.
At Kingsway Park High School we strive to transform students’ lives. Through our relationships, we endeavour to instil both resilience and an intrinsic motivation to become confident, creative and highly skilled students, capable of meeting tomorrow’s challenges head on. We strive to establish a culture rooted in achievement and progress that encourages our students to grow academically, personally and socially; equipping them with the values of equality, fairness and openness. We pride ourselves on our relentless drive to achieve outstanding, high quality teaching that provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment for all our students to be able to realise their academic potential in pursuit of educational excellence.
We are looking to appoint a dynamic new Assistant Headteacher who has a real passion and understanding of developing and improving behaviour and attitudes of students, staff and parents.
A key part of the role will be to model, and quality assure the high standards and expectations related to behaviour and attitudes at KPHS. This will include the forensic use of key performance indicators in the form of qualitative and quantitative data to track, monitor, evaluate and reframe practice. We have a phrase to describe the culture of our organisation known as “The Kingsway” - the way we do things around here. We want the successful candidate to further develop, enhance and embed a vision for consistent positive behaviour and relationships.
Another key priority will be to ensure that staff, students and parents are taken on the journey of development and improvement with you. This excessive clarity to all stakeholders regarding behaviour and attitudinal expectations will be an integral part of your role. Through this communication you will be able to establish a culture of ‘high trust, high expectations and collective responsibility’ where all stakeholders understand what is expected of them and the standard that they must aspire to.
You will be joining a strong senior leadership who are galvanised together in their relentless and collective pursuit of excellence towards our ultimate goal of creating a “World Class Learning Environment” for all students. You will be supported and challenged to progress professionally and given the autonomy and agency to make a real difference and impact on students' lives. As a group we work incredibly hard for our students, parents and staff, actively engaging in the operational, wider curricular and pastoral processes of the school alongside all our additional remits. We all help and push each other whilst consistently demonstrating our whole school values: ‘We Cooperate, We Pioneer, We Belong’ and will expect our new Assistant Headteacher to do the same.
