What does this job do?
- To play a crucial role in assisting the Headteacher to secure an outstanding education for students and in creating an environment where there are the highest expectations for all members of the school community
- To drive school improvement priorities, to secure the very best outcomes for students at Atherton High School
- To work with staff to promote whole school events, both in school and external to the school.
- Maintain the vision and direction for the school and ensure that the school’s vision and values are clearly articulated, shared, understood and are at the heart of all strategic decisions.
- To be the school’s Designated Safeguarding Lead.
- To coordinate overall monitoring and evaluation of strategies to raise standards of behaviour and pastoral care.
What are the job requirements?
- Qualified Teacher Status
- Experience of leading whole school initiatives
- Experience in a secondary mainstream school
- Evidence of relevant and substantial CPD
- Experience of leading on PDW (Behaviour, Attendance & Safeguarding)
- Experience of managing staff including setting performance management targets and holding to account
- Experience of delivering high quality INSET to teaching staff
- Proven success of raising achievement across at least two key stages
- Able to set clear targets, track progress an adopt strategies to achieve them
