Bangkok Patana School seeks a dynamic and committed Assistant Leader of Primary EAL to join our forward-thinking EAL team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Leader of Primary EAL to provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management, ensuring the highest quality of English language support for students across the Primary School. This position is integral in enhancing student progress and achievement through innovative teaching strategies, fostering effective communication, and supporting a culture of well-being and global citizenship.

Key Responsibilities:

●    Support collaborative teaching practices and co-plan with EAL and class teachers.

●    Lead and model innovative teaching, learning, and assessment strategies.

●    Provide professional development and guidance to EAL team members.

●    Monitor the progress of students within the EAL programme.

●    Have input into and shared oversight of key areas such as admissions, transitions, co-planning and co-teaching, assessment, and policy review, ensuring a smooth EAL experience for all learners.

●    Contribute to the overall school culture, safeguarding, and health and safety initiatives, ensuring adherence to the school’s values and mission.

●    Act as an ambassador for the school, upholding the highest professional standards and participating fully in school life, including the extra-curricular programme.

Qualifications and Experience:

●    A relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).

●    An internationally recognised ESL qualification (e.g. CELTA, Cert. TESOL or above)

●    Significant experience in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL), ideally within an international school setting.

●    Demonstrated ability to effectively manage/lead others, with a focus on collaboration and professional development.

●    Strong communication and organisational skills.

●    A commitment to the well-being and safeguarding of students.
