About Us

King’s Oak Academy has been part of the Cabot Learning Federation since 2011 and has benefited from being part of a medium-sized, mature MAT with access to excellent professional services and opportunities to work in collaboration with a group of experienced leaders across the trust.

We benefit from a large and well-situated site within easy commuting distance of the cities of Bristol and Bath. We are lucky enough to have a great deal of open space and our staff and pupils enjoy the flexibility to work with students across both facilities.

We are part of the Cabot Learning Federation - a diverse Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) that operates within the Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset areas with ambitions to grow. We are proud to serve circa 12,500 pupils who all attend one of our eight secondary academies, ten primary academies, an all-through provision, a studio school, a discrete Post 16 provision and an alternative provision which consists of one primary and three secondary settings.

In Return

Working within the Federation, you will benefit from excellent peer support from colleagues in similar roles across the Federation and great opportunities for continuing professional development. Values and vision

King’s Oak Academy has three core values: trust, respect and inspire. The secondary school aims to work with parents, carers and the wider community to help its young people be ambitious for themselves, confident and responsible, as well as creative in nurturing their own individuality. The academy’s mission statement is: “Where students achieve excellent outcomes in a caring and stimulating learning community.”

Ofsted report

“In outstanding lessons students were fully engrossed in their learning. Teachers set tasks that were exactly what students needed, thoroughly checked that they were understanding and could apply their learning to the task in hand. Students were liberated and not constrained by the learning objectives. Teachers gave time in these lessons for students to analyse what they were doing, reflect and strengthen their learning.”
